Drake was a Bloodshed Dragon. His scales were a deep scarlet colour, and when the sun hit them it seemed that his body was purely composed of blood.

The Bloodshed dragons were a warrior type of beasts. Wherever they went, Death would follow close. They lived hidden in the volcanic mountains, hidden deep inside caves that dug deep into the ground. At night they would leave the caves to terrorize the inhabitants of villages nearby, turning the houses to ashes and dragging survivors in its den, saving them for dinner.

Many a warrior left for the mountains to deal with them. Those few that did manage to escape falling into the burning hot lava would end up in the dragon's belly. None ever returned.

They said no knight was strong enough to kill them. So when a young vagabond musician left for the Scarlet Mountains, they all said it was suicide.

What they didn't know was that some dragons had weaknesses. And one of these dragons, although a fierce warrior, was very sensitive to music. So when the young musician sat down in front of his caves and started strumming his guitar, the dragon stood paralysed, entranced by such beautiful music.

For hours did the young man play his music. Sometimes sad, sometimes joyful, sometimes fierce. When he finally stopped playing, the dragon didn't kill him. He understood that to kill the man would mean the end of these beautiful tunes, and so spared his life. The musician left for his hometown and would regularly come visit the dragon, inventing new tunes each day.

Time went by, and a bond was created between the Bloodshed dragon and the musician. The young man became the first person to climb on the back of such a beast, who took off from the Scarlet Mountains and flew away. Together they travelled through different worlds, the pleasant ones and the terrible ones.

History became Legend, Legend became a Myth. Nowadays this tale is told to young children, as a bedtime story. The Story of Drake, the Dragon tamed by Music.

Actually, I took the story out from one I ahd written for one of my friend's little sister and brother. Their big brother was the musician in my story, and he was the main character. He had other adventures later on. Maybe I'll write down some more.

What is the difference between "start" and "begin" ? What about for a film ?

There isn't really a difference, in my opinion. Although there might be a slight one when it comes to the beginning or the start of a movie. The start of a movie is the very first scene, while the beginning may include more than one scene.

Otherwise, I don't think there is a difference.

When I talk with my mum about it before the film, we said the difference may be "start" is a mechanical action, like in "start a car". What is your opinion ?

Yes, you can say "I'm starting the movie" when you put it on, but you can't say "I'm beginning the movie". If you want to use begin, you'll have to say "the movie is beginning."

And what about "the movie begins" and "the movie starts" ?
